Webelos Year

When you have a chance, please head out to the scout store and pick up a Webelos book, and neckerchief with holder.  I'd consider hats optional.  While there, ask them about how to earn the religious emblem for your particular faith.  Typically there is a booklet the scouts work through with family and their religious organization.

Webelos has 20 activity badges.  We do not need to do all 20 over the 2 years, but there is special recognition for those boys who do.  Many of the badges require time outdoors or field trips, so we will need to meet periodically on weekends.  Various places (Philadelphia, Gettysburg, Science factory, N. Museum) also provide leadership for several of the badges for a price $.  They also tend to fill quickly and would require advanced planning for dates.  I think our parents are involved enough and come from varied backgrounds where we could probably handle most activities internally.  Look through the Webelos book and give me your thoughts.  The aquanaut can probably be completed at Camp Mack, otherwise I'd like that to be the responsibility of each scout and family.  If you want to tackle that one this summer as a Den let me know your suggestions on how to do it.

I need adults to volunteer to lead the following activity badge requirements in the Webelos book.  You can also pair up with another parent and share duties:
1.  Engineer
2.  Handyman
3. Citizenship
4. Sportsman

Thanks!
